Insulator is a support used between a wire or bus bar and a power pole or power transmission tower.
It is used in power transmission lines, power plants and substations.
Insulators made of ceramic or synthetic resin are available.
Since it is used outdoors, weather resistance is required.
Insulators made of epoxy are molded by vacuum casting using a mold or similar tooling.
Therefore, the heated viscosity must be less than 2,000 mPa・s when handled.
Epoxy resin moldings are used because of their high insulating properties.
In addition, it must be flame retardant (UL94 V-0) and have high mechanical strength.
